Welcome to Givewell's Project Spotlight. Each month we highlight a project for which a charity is currently seeking funds. We also provide details on how to give directly for this project.
Project description: While the immediate emergency of fighting the fires has passed, The Salvation Army continues to work in the recovery phase of the bush fires that tragically swept across Lower Eyre Peninsula on Black Tuesday (11 January 2005). Many families on Lower Eyre Peninsula are ones who were the 'first to give to others' and now they are the ones receiving the help. They are thankful to all who donated money, goods, labour, and time to help them recover from this loss. The Salvation Army will continue with the recovery phase on Lower Eyre Peninsula over the next few months. It will take several years before victims of the fires will feel full recovery; yet, there is a positive optimism for the future thanks to the generosity of the Australian people. Can donors/grant makers give directly for this project? Yes If so, how?
Is there an allowance for administration costs? No. All funds (100%) donated will be distributed to the victims of the Eyre Peninsula fire without retaining any administration costs. Contact details for further information: | |||||
